Awards

Awards are earned by score, not by category quotas. Every film that reaches the threshold receives the corresponding award and a certificate, regardless of how many other films scored similarly that season.

70–79
Merit

Solid filmmaking. Competence demonstrated across the scoring criteria.

80–89
Excellence

Exceptional work with clear command of the medium.

90–95
Distinction

Near-flawless filmmaking. A rare score.

96–100
The Orson Award

Our highest honor. Reserved for films that change how a judge sees the craft.

Individual Achievement Awards

Individual cast and crew members are scored on the same 10-point scale by each judge. Recognition is available for:

Lead Actor
Lead Actress
Supporting Actor
Supporting Actress
Cinematographer
Editor
Sound Designer
Composer
Production Designer
Screenwriter

Individual awards are included in the entry fee at no additional cost. A crew member can win an individual award even if the film's overall score falls below the festival award threshold.

Certificates

All award winners receive a digital certificate. Physical certificates are available on request. Awards can be used in festival promotional materials, press kits, and FilmFreeway laurels.
